| Restaurants | Dunlay's on the Square | ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
I've now eaten at Dunlay's on the Square twice, and just based on its location (on the square) and its look (rather trendy), I imagine anyone reading this site has probably been there too, but I'll write a review just in case you haven't been by. My first time at Dunlay's I started with an appetizer of homemade kettle chips topped with bleu cheese which was also great. Service was pretty prompt and the atmosphere of the place was nice. For dinner, I had the BBQ Ribs, which were excellent. If you're a "fall off the bone" fan when it comes to ribs, you will be pleased. It came with a side of mashed potatoes which were also great. The price of entrees there is reasonable but not cheap, so it's probably not a place I'll be eating at every week.
| Restaurants | Charley's Thai Place | ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
I must admit I'm a bit of a bad judge of a Thai restaurant because I like two dishes so much I pretty much order one of the two exclusively no matter where I go. If you want to know how good the Pad See Ew and Pad Thai are at a Thai restaurant though, I'm the guy to ask! Both are great at Charley's, though the Pad See Ew is occasionally made a little too sweet. Their chicken potstickers are phenomenal, so if you're the type to get an appetizer, I'd strongly recommend them. Service is sometimes a little slow there when their carryout orders are coming in quickly, which is my only minor issue. Most of the time, however, service is good and the food is too. Prices are very reasonable, averaging around $7-9 for most dishes.
| Veterinarians | Logan Square Animal Hospital | ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
I should be up front and say that I have not had actual veterinarian experience at this animal hospital. I have only been there to pick up prescription food for one of my cats, who needs it to stay healthy. However, I feel compelled to write a review of the place because both times I have been there to pick up the food, the stench of animal urine and ammonia has been overwhelming. The place just doesn't seem very clean or well kept, and I can't imagine taking a pet there to be checked out. I'd be pleased to hear contradictory reports from people, but as of now, I've got to rate this place a 3.
| Restaurants | Kuma's Corner | ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
| Kuma's is my favorite place in the area... It's on Belmont between California and Sacramento. They have amazingly good food, a great Belgian beer list, a GREAT back patio, and the staff is as cool and friendly as could be. They also have great TVs if you're looking for somewhere to watch a game. | ||
| Restaurants | Miko's Italian Ice | ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
| Miko's Italian Ice is located on Sacramento, just south of Fullerton. They offer a wide variety of flavors of Italian Ice at a pretty reasonable price - just $2 for a small (which is plenty). I've so far tried the Watermelon, Canteloupe, Strawberry and Mango flavors, and they were all excellent. If you haven't tried Miko's, I highly recommend it. | ||
